7 Facts About Me

I’ve been tagged by my high school classmate, Cyhna, here in Multiply to post 7 facts about myself. This couldn’t be a better timing because these past days I’ve been thinking of writing something called “100 Things About Me.” But as always, that plan has been delayed and pushed so many times into the depths of my very long so-called to-do list. This is a great way to get that 100 things about me thing started. So thank you, Cyhn’!

  1. I’m a nocturnal person. I sleep way too late at night that it’s almost morning and I wake up late enough to miss breakfast and have lunch instead. I can do almost anything late at night, be it studying or surfing the net. Something about the night makes me enjoy doing things more. That is also why I hate school. I was always late way back in high school because I’m just so not a morning person. :p
  2. I LOVE Oreos! It seems like I have a sweet tooth just for Oreo because I have to have one or two everyday, or at least every other day. Twist, Lick and Dunk, yeah I can do it! :) If I can have a lifetime supply of any cookie, I’ll ask for Oreos in a heartbeat.
  3. I appeared on ABS-CBN’s Homeboy (You know the talkshow with Boy Abunda?) for 2 consecutive days. The first episode was live and the other one was taped after the live one for the next day’s show. What happened was the day after the board exam in Manila, I went with my Med. Tech friends for an ABS-CBN studio tour since one of my friends’ mother worked in ABS-CBN in Bacolod, hence she has connections and she can get us a studio tour that day. Apart from seeing a lot of celebrities and visiting the sets of a lot of ABS-CBN shows, my friends and I were lucky enough to be in the studio audience of 2 tapings of Homeboy. (We don’t live in Manila so being able to experience something like this was definitely something!) The 2nd taping was even more something because the show’s staff was asking for 3 girls from the audience to participate in the next segment of the show which features the 2 guy contestants from Pinoy Dream Academy (I don’t watch Dream Academy then so I didn’t know the guys), and I was one of those 3 girls. My friends pointed at me and yelled my name when the staff was asking from the audience. Maybe my friends did it because I was so excited and all hyped throughout the whole thing! (Seeing a lot of celebrities and being in the sets of TV Patrol and seeing Kris Aquino’s dressing room made me excitedly hyper that day!!). So what happened was the 3 of us from the audience were instructed by the show’s staff (in other words, it was scripted) to act as if we are die-hard fans of those guys from Dream Academy. It involved yelling and being all kilig infront of the guys. It was a weird thing for me since I don’t know those guys in the first place and I’m not the type at all to yell out of kilig for male celebrities. But I had no choice that time. I had to act it out. I was one of the 3 girls called out by Boy Abunda to walk to the center of the set and scream and act kilig while the boys “serenaded” us. Yuck, but I did it out of being in the Philippine’s national television. Thank Heavens because when I saw the show’s episode on air, some of our part in the show was cut, particularly the out of this world, obviously scripted screaming part. Up to this day, I’m still asked by friends and some people I meet if it was really me on that show. I’m actually proud that it was me and can’t help not laughing everytime I explained to them how it all happened.
  4. I used to be an athlete. I was a track and field runner starting around Grade 3 until I decided to quit in Grade 6. I was a sprinter, competing mostly in 100 meter singles, relays and even hurdles and also in 200 meter singles. I reached as far as being in the track team of our school and competing against other Chinese schools in Manila. I never won a gold medal though. The closest thing I got were silver medals.
  5. I had my very first boyfriend 9 months after I turned 18. I didn’t know him that well yet when I had my debut and he was never in my 18 dances. After 3 years and counting, he’s still my greatest guy and looks like he’ll be my first and last boyfriend. :p
  6. I had my very first web site when I was 12 years old. It was a personal homepage called Michelle’s Virtual Home, made through Microsoft Frontpage ‘98 and hosted by LasalTech, our internet service provider back then. It featured an About Me section, a page about my online and offline friends, my favorite celebrities and such, and a guestbook. It had about 10 visitors a day. Hehe
  7. The only time I cried tears out of joy was when I found out I passed the 2006 Philippine Medical Technology Board Exam. I never cried during my debut or when I graduated high school and even college, but passing the board exam on my 1st try really beat the soft side out of me. Imagine, I didn’t have any sleep the night before taking the board exam because I was too anxious about it. My heart was palpitating so hard, it’s like there’s a drum beating inside my chest. I was physically unprepared at all in taking the board exam and during the afternoon on the first day, I felt as if I was floating in space in my effort of staying awake AND to think straight of the right answers. God is really good and it was a miracle that I made it in the 1st day without getting any sleep the night before. I’ve also never studied and worked so hard in my entire life, other than when I was preparing for the board exam. That’s why I really cried out of joy when I found out I pass because there’s nothing like the feeling of successfully earning the fruits of your labor. I finally proved the saying “Do your best and God will do the rest.” All it took was doing my best in studying and praying and praying and trusting God.

Since this is a tagging task, I’m assigned to tag 7 other people to do the same. And since Cyhna has tagged some of our friends, I’ll tag Shaila, Toto Kim, Michelle, Jireh, Joni, Clein and Flip (even though I know you’re busy! hehe)

  3. Thank you michelle for not tagging me! Haha! It would’ve been redundant because I already wrote 24 facts about myself on my blog (although I could certainly do more than that).

And by the way I have a new blog: http://nightdreamer.i.ph
